Digital Fabrication Technician (DFT0126)

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Digital Fabrication Technician to manage day-to-day operation of our CNC router and 3D printing systems.
This role requires a disciplined operator who understands both machine execution and file preparation, with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality parts using materials such as foam, engineering plastics, and composite materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor 3-axis CNC router and FDM 3D printers
• Prepare and process files (STL, STEP, DXF) for production
• Generate and review toolpaths (CAM) before machining
• Slice and optimize 3D print jobs based on material requirements
• Perform machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality of finished parts
• Troubleshoot print failures, machining defects, and machine issues
• Maintain a clean and safe fabrication environment (dust control, PPE, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience

• Practical experience with CNC machining (feeds & speeds, tool selection, work holding)
• Practical experience with 3D printing (slicing, material profiles, troubleshooting)
• Familiarity with at least one CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360)
• Ability to interpret and work with technical files (STL, STEP, DXF)
• Strong problem-solving ability in fabrication processes
• Basic understanding of machine maintenance and calibration

Preferred (Advantage)

• Experience working with carbon fiber, composites, or foam machining
• Exposure to prototyping or small-batch manufacturing environments
• Understanding of tolerances and precision measurement tools
